About Me
My Background
I rediscovered my love of art after years of pursuing other interests. Working primarily with oils, I use bright colors and sweeping strokes to evoke emotion. I've shown my oil paintings at a number of local venues in the Cleveland area including Valley Art Center, Studio 2, The Paris Room, Be.Gallery, Art by the Falls, Chagrin Falls Arts Hop, Beachwood Community Center, Mandel JCC, and Hamlet Village among others.
My Medium
I use many different mediums, such as pencil and pastels, but love the flexibility of oil best. Each idea manifests in its own individual style.
My Inspiration
Drawing my inspiration from nature, my hiking, and frequent travels, I paint both en plein air and from photos I personally take. Other than broad shape and color, I rarely copy exactly what I see but what I experience looking at an image or landscape. I am heavily influenced by the impressionists and our National Parks.
